At a time when rock & roll didn't aid or so its roots, the Georgia Satellites came fucking into the charts with a surprise strike unmarried to remind everybody where the medicine had come from. The pip individual, 1986's "Keep Your Hands to Yourself," rocked as surd as an old Chuck Berry song, as well as being virtually as cunning. The Satellites weren't a back-to-basics roots john Rock band, either -- their straightforward sound borrowed as from Berry, the Rolling Stones, the Faces, Little Feat, and AC/DC, with a Southern hinterland bent. At their best, the Satellites were but a damn well rock & roll ring, driven by the classical heretofore clean songwriting of spark advance singer/guitarist Dan Baird. On the strong point of "Keep Your Hands to Yourself," their number one major-label album sold well, simply the follow-up, Open All Night, did non; radiocommunication and MTV had treated the band as a kind of freshness -- a crew of hicks kicking out rock & roll offered a check between the slick pop-metal of Bon Jovi and the self-examining pop of Peter Gabriel. By the meter they released Open All Night in 1988, no one was concerned, even if the record album was exclusively slightly weaker than the debut. After one more record album, 1989's In the Land of Salvation and Sin, the band called it quits. Guitarist Rick Richards united Izzy Stradlin's Ju Ju Hounds terzetto old age later; Baird chased a solo career and had a little tally in tardy 1992 with "I Love You Period." In 1996, he helped grade the Yayhoos afterward cathartic his second solo album. The Yayhoos have 2 albums, the to the highest grade recent being 2006's Lay the Hammer Down. During the mid-'90s, the Georgia Satellites reunited without Baird. They released Shaken Not Stirred in 1997.

Health Risk Behaviors Associated With Lower Prostate Specific Antigen Awareness

According to a study conducted at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, wellness risk behaviors such as smoking and obesity ar associated with lower sentience of the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which could lead to a lour likelihood of undergoing actual prostate crab screening. Although previous studies have explored predictors of PSA quiz awareness, this is the first research to focus on health risk behaviors, such as smoking, strong-arm inactivity, corpulency, and excessive alcohol consumption. The study findings were reported in the August issue of The Journal of Urology.

Awareness of PSA testing is considered an important cognitive precursor of prostate malignant neoplastic disease screening and it was found to contribute to differences in prostate cancer screening rates. Earlier studies have suggested that persons who seek out crab information are more likely to adopt knowledge, show healthy behaviors, and undergo cancer masking. According to the Mailman School study, a quarter of the men aged than 50 years without a history of prostate gland cancer world Health Organization were among the population of 7,000 manpower studied, remain unaware of the PSA test.

"Our primary findings suggested that smoke, physical inertia and obesity are inversely associated with awareness of the PSA test. These risk behaviors are coupled with higher prostate cancer morbidity and mortality," aforesaid Firas S. Ahmed, MD, MPH, Mailman School of Public Health, and first author. This finding may be due to a general want of vexation about wellness maintenance or less interactions with health care providers by smokers, according to Dr. Ahmed.

The earlier research also indicated that patients with prostate gland cancer wHO smoke salute a worsened prognosis than patients wHO do non smoke, and that obesity is associated with more than advanced stages and higher grades of prostate cancer.

"The results concur with our initial hypothesis that men who take on unhealthy lifestyles may be less concerned with health and less aware of preventive measures like the PSA test," says Luisa N. Borrell, DDS, PhD, adjunct supporter professor in the Mailman School of Public Health's Department of Epidemiology, and senior author. Given the associations 'tween smoking, physical inactivity, and obesity with prostate cancer the Crab and cardiovascular disease, men with multiple risk behaviors would seem to be ideal targets for interventions to ameliorate their awareness of the PSA test, the authors note.

Shalamar was the creative activity of Dick Griffey, the reservation agent for the telly R&B program Somebody Train, and British R&B producer Simon Soussan. The group's number one single, the 1977 Motown potpourri "Uptown Festival," featured a bevy of faceless studio musicians; once it became a hit, Griffey decided to configuration a performing grouping under the name Shalamar. Through Soul Train, Griffey set up Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniels, and Gerald Brown, the triplet vocalists that became Shalamar; Brown was apace replaced by Howard Hewitt in 1978.

Shalamar's string of poppy dance-soul hits began in 1979 with "Take That to the Bank"; later that year, "The Second Time Around" strike the Top Ten. Throughout the early '80s the group were favorites on the U.S. R&B scene, as easily as grading a turn of British strike singles. Watley and Daniels leftfield the group in 1982 and were replaced by Delisa Davis and Micki Free in 1984; Watley went on to stardom as a solo move. The undermentioned year Shalamar won a Grammy awarding for "Don't Get Stopped in Beverly Hills," which was featured in Beverly Hills Cop. Hewitt leftfield for a solo calling in 1986, signaling the end of the band's vocation as hit-makers. Sidney Justin replaced Hewitt and the grouping recorded 1987's Circumstantial Evidence, which was a commercial dashing hopes. The grouping weakened away before long after the discharge of 1990's Heat Up.
